Important information you must know before registering:
To enroll, you must be between 18 and 74 years old and own a deposit account or a credit card from Banco Popular de Puerto Rico from which the monthly payment of the insurance premium will be charged. The program will automatically expire on your 80th birthday.
Please note that this coverage excludes death by:
- Injuries intentionally inflicted on oneself or by another person
- Suicide
- Participating in an assault or crime
- Being intoxicated by alcohol, taking drugs or narcotics voluntarily unless prescribed by a qualified physician
- Committing any activity that is illegal or criminal in nature or associating with persons engaged in such activity
- The Certificate excludes and shall not provide coverage if the Insured dies from a Pre-existing Condition. Pre-existing Condition means an illness, disease or medical condition that has been diagnosed and treated by a physician:
- in the twelve (12) months before the Certificate’s effective date; and
- that caused the Insured’s death within twelve (12) months after the Certificate’s effective date.
- in the twelve (12) months before the Certificate’s effective date; and

Upon enrollment, a welcome package containing the Certificate of Insurance, the Summary Page and other important documents will be mailed to you for your records.
This is an optional insurance that can be cancelled at any time. Visit the Coverage Information section to review the cancellation process.
Your insurance coverage ends when:
- the group master policy is terminated
- the monthly premium is not paid
- you cancel your insurance coverage
- you turn 80 years old
- your death
